I agree with the statement “Never, never give up” because it shows how you believe an have faith for yourself. And I think that that’s important because it’s self-respect and it shows other to respect you and shows others what you can do and overall, it just informs others about what kind of person you are.
Basically, never, never give up is like a process which is something like fail, attempt, learn, adapt. We can see this whole process in the poem “Learning to Read” by Frances Ellen Watkins Harper. At the beginning it introduces these slaves and just being a slave was the fail, it felt like failure because they were not being educated as it says, “Our masters always tried to hide Book learning from our eyes; Knowledge didn’t agree with slavery- ’Twould make us all too wise”. The slaves knew although they couldn’t be educated, they still wanted to go ad try. And this is where they attempt, the slaves would try everything to get knowledge,” But some of us would try to steal A little from the book. And put the words together And learn by hook or crook”.
Then comes the next step, learning, in this case they started to learn how to read and learned by other people aswell. It shows this when it says,” And there was Mr.Turner’s Ben who heard the children’s spell. And picked the words right up by heart and learned to read ‘em well”. And once they’ve began to learn they were beginning to feel doubt coming from other, but they wouldn’t let that stop them from accomplishing what they started. And after trying and trying never giving up no matter what the situation was, in this case “But as I was risking sixty. I had no time to wait”, it all ended up well with a happy and satisfying ending. And for my life, the something happened to me just different situations in where I thought everything as difficult and I had my doubts and was very close to giving up but never did and in the end it was worth it and I was very grateful that I never gave up.
